Soon, I’ll start a bi-weekly, monthly (or whenever I can get it out), column on various beer related topics.
I’ll continue to update you on my quest for 200 and anything else I encounter.
I have the distinct pleasure of enjoying Stone’s 12th anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout today. A gift from my parents. A refreshing change from the old standard of Guinness.
It packs a punch at 9.6% abv, but is very smooth. Typical dark brown in color, with a chocolate flavor (the guys at Stone add real Oaxacan chocolate to it!), very rich in flavor.
A very nice brew.
I just spoke with the Stone rep here in Texas. He advised that he has met with the TBC(Texas Beverage Commision) and they have approved 4, yes I said 4, new Stone beers to come into Texas! First has come the Stone Pale Ale. next month we will have the Stone Smoked Porter, the Oaked Arrogant Bastard and the Ruination IPA!!
Sitting at home with the boys, watching a little football. Enjoying an Avery White Rascal. A very refreshing Belgian Wheat. What’s nice about this one is how smooth it really is. Alight, somewhat citrus flavor.
